A great site with a pleasingly different approach to looking at cat biology.
Rather than examining felines through the eyes of the zoologist, the site takes a designer or an engineer’s approach, examining the blueprint for the perfect predator. Follow the links through the major problems facing a would-be design team: the skeleton, the muscle systems, the senses and so on, and look closely at examples of real cats and how they solve them. As well as cat species which are alive today, the site looks at the extinct sabre-toothed tiger, and the gallery section has some great-looking, though rather small, illustrations. Overall the site is informative and original, and well worth a purrrrusal…
